Launching SW2con

First, I must apologize for the silence of that last few months. I hadn’t intended for this list to go unattended to for quite that long.

Second, part of my silence is due to getting SW2con off the ground. Yes, that’s right — we’re launching a conference!

SW2con, as the name implies, is about this next wave in software development and deployment — one driven by the seismic impacts of artificial intelligence.

While SW2con will include the foundations of cloud, devops, containers, observability and APIs, it is also driving forward into vector databases, retrieval augmented generation, co-pilots and code assists, AI inference, model guardrails, testing and training, data confidentiality and security, and so, so much more.

We’ve already announced some amazing speakers, like:

  • Mario Rodriguez, GitHub

  • Paige Bailey, Google

  • Jonathan Ellis, DataStax

  • Ado Kukic, Sourcegraph

  • Rachel Stephens, KellyAnn Fitzpatrick & Kate Holterhoff, Redmonk

  • Sriram Subramanian, CloudDon

  • Craig McLuckie, StackLok

  • Alex Williams, The NewStack

  • …And many, many more.

I’m building out ~30% of the agenda per month, so I’ll have around 60% of it set within the next few weeks (with some really exciting keynotes coming).

We’re launching SW2con for everyone involved in software development and deployment, and hope that you’ll join us to explore how everything in software is changing.

In light of all of that, this list is going to primarily become an informational avenue for the conference (if you’d like to unsubscribe from that, there will be an easy way to do that in any emails that are sent out). In addition, I’ll be posting on the blog, with only occasional writings here.

Thank you for following along to this point, and we’ll see you at SW2con!
